One of the UK’s leading design and branding businesses, is seeking a Technical Director to look after the brand packaging work they produce for some of their major clients, who operate primarily in the food and drink sector. Your main responsibility will be to ensure that, from a technical and production perspective, their design, artwork and reprographic teams achieve the highest possible standards.

Reporting to the Operations Director you will lead a team of dedicated packaging artwork and repro specialists and you’ll oversee the company’s digital workflow and digital asset management facilities. You’ll be responsible for maintaining quality control throughout their processes, liaising with suppliers and clients and managing their technical needs. You’ll also be involved in the management of several major client contracts.

You’ll need to be a good communicator, able to motivate your immediate team, guide packaging designers on trends, technical issues and best working practice while inspiring confidence amongst their clients.

You’ll have a repro background with excellent hands-on knowledge of relevant repro software such as Esko and Artpro as well as a sound working knowledge of graphics software such as Illustrator, Photoshop and Freehand. You will have an extensive understanding of print production for packaging and the various printing processes involved such as flexo, gravure and litho.
