Designer

Our Cambridge based client is looking for a designer to work on new business wins for both print and web.

You will come from an agency environment and be working on design and web design project. Ideally you will be working on the full mix in terms of design with a particular weight or strength on websites. Being able to understand the architecture of a website as well as a brochure is important.

Although our client isn’t looking for a developer it’s always preferable you can at least make up proposal work so the client can see ideas, so having a basic working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP and Flash AS2 and 3 would be ideal but not a deal breaker. First and foremost we are looking for great designer who has about 50 percent website design experience too.

This position is a newly created position, you will ideally be already working in Cambridgeshire and used to working on local projects.

The Job

Our client is looking for a Senior Designer to work with a newly appointed Marketing Manager to help design and develop all new marketing collateral for the ongoing promotion of the company.

They are looking to establish a new look and feel to the brand identity of their company to help strengthen the company’s brand in the market. As such you will be capable of understanding and producing all of the processes to run along side the design process. Whether its designing a brochure or Direct Mail campaign or designing and building a new website you will need to be able to work on your own initiative and as a team member communicating at all levels throughout the process.

Required Skills
  • Up to date design abilities for both Print and Web alike.
  • Be able to create print ready artwork.
  • Deal with Printers, Proofing and Press passes.
  • Ability to use PC’s
  • Ability to manage web content.
  • Ability to optimise a site for the purposes of good positioning.
  • PPC management would also be an advantage.
Use the following software programs to the highest level.
  • Illustrator
  • Indesign
  • Photoshop
  • Dreamweaver
Able to create the following code.
  • HTML
  • XHTML
  • Any additional languages such as CSS and PHP Java etc would be an added bonus.

Our client is looking to appoint someone to this position urgently. You will be required to demonstrate all your core competencies through a well-presented portfolio, preferably your own online web site too.

Account Management:
